In celebration of the National Cancer Awareness Month last May, Sahara Network for Cervical Cancer Awareness gathered women and men in their Touch Lives event on May 15, 2010 at The Stock Market, Bonifacio High Street.

Twelve women die of Cervical Cancer every day. It can affect women from different age groups and not show symptoms during its early stages. With this in mind, the network aims to be a sisterhood of advocates and educate women on their own empowerment, while increasing awareness of cervical cancer and its early detection and prevention.

Dr. Cecilia Llave of CECAP gave the girls from Sahara Network’s sponsor, Modess Angels, and the other guests a brief presentation on how strong and alarming the impact of Cervical Cancer is on Filipino women. GlaxoSmithKline sponsored 36 vaccines which were raffled off to 12 lucky females.

Pretty girls sashayed the isles of the restaurant wearing witty statement t-shirts made especially for the network and the Sahara Nights collection of Yvette Floro Bags. A group of drummers named Tubig created a fluid and comfortable ambience that was lively and refreshing at the same time.
